The most popular name given to baby boys in Croatia in 2014 was Luka, whilst Ana was the most common name parents gave their newborn girls last year, according to Croatia’s birth registry office…
Whilst Luka was clearly the most popular boys name last year, other names high on the list included Ivan, Marko, David, Filip, Petar, Josip and Jakov. Other common girls names in Croatia in 2014 were Marija, Mia, Lucija and Sara.
In neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina the most common name given to baby boys were Amar, Tarik and Vedad, whilst Amina, Lamija and Ajna were the most common baby girl names. In Slovenia the names Franc, Janez, Anton and Ivan were the most common for boys in 2014, whilst Marija, Ana, Maja and Irena topped the list for girls names.
For the 13th year in a row Nikola was the most common name given to baby boys in Serbia, followed by Luka, Stefan, Marko and Lazar. When it came to girls names, Milica, Anđela, Jovana and Ana were the most common in 2014. Aleksandar was the most common boys name in Montenegro, followed by Zoran and Nikola, whilst Marija, Biljana and Elena dominated the girls list. (photo / Wikipedia)
