Most popular baby names in Croatia in 2021 revealed

ZAGREB, 20 April 2022 – The most popular names given to newborn boys and girls in Croatia in 2021 has been revealed.
According to the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, 36,934 babies were registered in the Croatian Birth Registry from 1 January – 31 December 2021.
Out of the total number of newborns, 19,185 were boys and 17,749 were girls, Index.hr reported.
As expected, the largest number of babies were born in the City of Zagreb (12,224), followed by the Split-Dalmatia County (4512), the Osijek-Baranja County (2423) and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (2381).
The fewest babies were born in Lika-Senj County (280), Bjelovar-Bilogora County (565) and Virovitica-Podravina County (650).
The most popular name given to baby boys was again Luka, followed by David, Jakov, Ivan and Roko.
For girls, Mia was the most popular name, followed by Lucija, Nika, Rita and Ema.
