Less than 40% of couples / women in Croatia use some form of contraception, according to research reported by Tportal.
From the 40% using contraception, 8% use birth control pills, 1.5% use femidoms (female condoms) and just under 30% use condoms.The most common method of contraception amongst Croatian youth is coitus interruptus or withdrawal.
An interesting statistic to come out of the research is the decline in the use of birth control pills and the increase in the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.
