Kata Dalić, the mother of Croatian national football team coach Zlatko Dalić, passed away at the age of 91 in Livno, the Croatian Football Federation has said in a statement on Saturday.
“We express our deepest condolences to Zlatko and the entire Dalić family, and we want to let the coach know that the entire football family is with him in this difficult moment,” the President of the Croatian Football Federation, Marijan Kustić, said, adding.
“We all know Zlatko as a person who is extremely devoted to his family, so it is not surprising that he spent the last weeks by his mother’s side. Although this departure is painful, we believe that the coach can find solace in the years Kata lived, witnessing the upbringing of her valuable and honest children, Mladenka, Miran, and Zlatko, as well as the successes of the Croatian national football team, which she greatly rejoiced in. May Kata rest in peace.”
Dalić is expected to name the Croatia squad on Monday to face the Netherlands in next month’s UEFA Nations League semi-final.
