MTK Global has announced on Tuesday the launch of MTK Croatia – a new state-of-the-art boxing gym based in the capital Zagreb.
Former WBA Intercontinental champion and WBA world title challenger Stjepan Bozić will run the gym, whilst the chief instructor at MTK Croatia will be renowned trainer Slobodan Andelić, who has worked with a number of top fighters, including former WBC lightweight champion Dejan Zlaticanin.
Former heavyweight contender Mario Preskar will also assist with training.
Boxing in Croatia has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and the Croatia Professional Boxing Sports Federation are thrilled with the new venture with MTK Global.
“Despite the hard times for professional combat sports, the HSPBS (Croatia Professional Boxing Sports Federation) is delighted to announce the opening of the first MTK Global gym in South-East Europe. It means that professional boxers, along with the best amateur boxers in Croatia, will have the chance to improve their skills under the guidance of the biggest management agency in the world. The gym in Zagreb will also have their own gym branch in Ljubljana in Slovenia, so boxers from that region will also be able to benefit,” said Croatia Professional Boxing Sports Federation Secretary General Harry Gorian, before adding.
“HSPBS will now look to establish a regular series of boxing events, which will be the platform to present the boxers to the world. Once again I must say a big thank you to the MTK Global team for this opportunity, and we are excited to show what we can do.”
MTK Global are thrilled the partnership with the Croatia Professional Boxing Sports Federation is moving to the next level.
“We’re pleased to announce the launch of the MTK Croatia gym in Zagreb. We’ve already had a fantastic partnership with the Croatia Professional Boxing Sports Federation over the last few months, and now we have the chance to take things to the next level. The launch of this gym will allow boxers from Croatia and beyond to use some wonderful facilities to develop their boxing skills, and we’re confident that we can help to unearth the next massive boxing star from the region,” MTK Global Commercial Director Jack Johnstone said.
The launch of MTK Croatia means MTK Global has now expanded to an incredible 26 locations worldwide, following the unveiling of MTK Gloucestershire, MTK Costa Blanca, MTK Marseille, MTK Worcestershire, MTK Fuerteventura, MTK Alberta, MTK Leeds, MTK Miami, MTK Lake District, MTK Munich, MTK Denmark (based in Aarhus) and MTK Costa Brava over the past year.
They join strongholds in Osaka, Japan; Tenerife, Spain; London, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Scotland, United Kingdom; Johannesburg, South Africa; Santa Catarina, Brazil; Sydney, Australia; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Tucson, Arizona, USA and Dubai, UAE.
