ZAGREB, 15 October 2020 – The Museum of Hangovers in Zagreb, in cooperation with Croatian beverage company Badel 1862 is preparing an exhibition titled “History of Alcoholic Beverages – from Mesopotamia to the Corona”.
The exhibition, which will take place from 27 October – 29 November 2020, follows the course of time and interesting things appear from the very beginnings of human civilisation to modern times. In addition to the stories, the exhibition will feature interactive content so that people can experience history through all the senses, not just the visual.
“The exhibition will feature drinks that have influenced the history of mankind and Croatia, such as wine, beer, Pelinkovac, rakija and many others. You will learn a lot of interesting facts and answers to many questions that “came to mind” while drinking with your friends,” organisers said.
Conceptually, the history will be told in the form of interesting stories that will tell the development of drinks in the world from the time of the first civilisations in China and Mesopotamia to the modern times of globalisation. Also, the history of where Croatia is today from the first Phoenician colonies to modern-day Croatia will be treated separately.
“In addition to the stories, we have prepared various interactive content for the exhibition in order to complete the experience of the exhibition itself. We have prepared a microscope for visitors with which they will discover the undiscovered world of alcohol, an alcohol metre on which they will test their skills in “brandy roasting” and much more.”
The exhibition will take place at Preradovićeva Ulica 8 from 27.10 – 29.11.2020.
More information about the exhibition can be found on the museum’s Facebook or Instagram page.
