The port in the Dalmatian city of Zadar has been named by National Geographic Traveler as one of the Best Small Ports In Europe in its latest issue.
For nearly 3,000 years, Zadar—a Croatian port on the northern Dalmatian coast—has absorbed the legacies of foreign powers, visible today in the Old Town Peninsula’s varied architecture, wrote the popular travel magazine.
Besides Zadar, Alesund (Norway), Tallinn (Estonia), Gdańsk (Poland), Ajaccio (France) and Valletta (Malta) were named in the top 6 Best Small Ports in Europe.
