New baby names enter Croatia’s most popular list

Baby names

The list of the most common baby names in Croatia for 2024 has been revealed, and while the top spots remain unchanged, a few new names have made their way into the rankings.

Once again, Mia and Luka are the most popular names for girls and boys, just as they were in 2023. The top 10 names have also seen little change, with only minor shifts in ranking.

The 10 most popular boys names are Luka, Jakov, Toma, David, Petar, Niko, Ivan, Mateo, Roko and Matej.

The 10 most popular girls names are Mia, Rita, Nika, Mila, Lucija, Ema, Marta, Sara, Eva and Dora

However, looking beyond the top 10, some new names have entered the top 50 and top 100 lists, while others have dropped off.

Zadovoljna.hr took a closer look at the newest entries in Croatia’s top 100 baby names for 2024, along with their meanings.
