A number of new boutique hotels are popping up around Croatia as tourism continues to grow at a rapid rate.
Whilst many are located in either the capital Zagreb, or on the popular Dalmatian coast or Istrian peninsular, a new mini boutique is set to help attract tourists to a lesser know destination – the beautiful Mrežnica river in the central Karlovac County.
The Old Mill mini boutique hotel will open soon along the picturesque Mrežnica river, just four minutes drive from the centre of Duga Resa and 20 minutes drive from Karlovac.
The 63 kilometer-long Mrežnica river is considered special due to its large number of waterfalls, with 93 in total. Mrežnica rises in Kordun, west of Slunj, and flows northwards, in parallel to Dobra and Korana, through Generalski Stol and Duga Resa, when it finally flows into the Korana in the south of Karlovac.
Lotus Archtecti is behind the design of The Old Mill, which will have just 10 rooms, and they have shared an insight into how the hotel will look with Buro.hr.
The hotel, which connects tradition with modern style, will also feature a sauna, pool and wellness centre.
