After three years of guest appearances at gastro festivals, Burger Institute – Institute za burgere by Mate Janković decided to find its corner on Zagreb’s Trešnjevka at Ozaljska 12.
Delicious burgers are prepared under the watchful eye of popular Croatian chef Janković, and everyone can find something to their liking.
Classicists can feast on the basic burger flavours without many additions, those inclined to novelty can bite into the smash variant, vegetarians can choose their favourite made from rice and red beans, chicken lovers will find a juicy meal that calls for more, and hardened gourmets can try Mate Janković’s signature burger.
All burgers are available with both regular and brioche buns.
Mate’s partner, Ivan Badžek, a great lover of burgers and cooking, took care of arranging the new place and runs the business.
They pickle all the vegetables they use themselves, and they get their vegetables, such as carrots, radishes and peppers at local OPGs (family farms), but they also prepare some other surprises.
Since they are food enthusiasts themselves, they are currently working on the concept of hosting other burger connoisseurs and famous chefs, so that they can offer their guests a diverse selection of the favourite food of many.
Burger Institute – Institute za burgere is truly a “funky place”, it was painted by graffiti artist Krešo Golubić, and Roman Pokos made it visually pop with his illustrations.
Burger Institute – Institute za burgere is open every day except Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
