New €44 million Zagreb stadium to be completed by 2026

The Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, has announced on Friday that the new stadium in Kranjčevićeva street is set to be completed by September 2026.
During the project’s unveiling today, the mayor confirmed that the construction permit has been obtained, and works are scheduled to commence in March.
The entire project will cost €44 million, with construction expected to be completed within 18 months.
Following its completion, the demolition of Maksimir Stadium will begin.
The new facility is designed to meet UEFA’s fourth-category standards, enabling Dinamo Zagreb and the Croatian national football team to host European matches there.
“The aim is to ensure the stadium is ready by September 2026,” Tomašević stated.
The stadium will feature covered stands for all spectators, a hybrid and heated pitch, and fully equipped facilities for players, staff, media, and technical support.
“Resolving the legal and property status of Maksimir earlier this year was crucial, and this marks the second significant step towards building the new stadium in Maksimir,” Tomašević emphasised.
The main and implementation project was made by the company Sirah Projekt, which also made the same for the stadium in Osijek, we had excellent cooperation, said Tomašević.
He added that the stadium will also have a 6,300 square meter square will be built in front of the stadium.
Among other things, 150 trees will be planted around the new square and stadium, a parking lot for 450 cars will be built, and 608 places for bicycles and 16 for buses.
The project represents a major milestone for Croatian football, promising a state-of-the-art venue that will cater to both domestic and international competitions.
