HNS cracks down on ticket resale for Croatia matches
The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) is taking firm steps to combat ticket resale for Croatia’s national team matches.
The federation shares fans’ frustration over the issue and is using all available measures to address it, HNS has said in a statement on Wednesday.
While HNS cannot prevent individuals from reselling tickets—something only authorised institutions can tackle—it remains the sole owner of all tickets, as outlined in its General Terms of Sale.
Tickets cannot be transferred or resold without HNS’s consent. If a ticket is found to have been sold illegally, it will be voided electronically, and the buyer will be denied entry to the stadium, with no refund provided.
Security, prevention, integrity, and ticketing departments have already identified individuals reselling tickets online and have cancelled those tickets. Additionally, HNS will report all such cases to the police.
To tighten security, ticket checks at stadiums will be stricter than ever. Security personnel will verify that the name on the ticket matches the ID of the holder. Anyone with mismatched details will be denied entry.
To further combat resale, HNS has introduced a new mobile ticketing app, replacing the previous “print-at-home” system.
This change will make it harder for resellers, as tickets will only appear in the app a few days before the match and cannot be transferred to another person.
HNS acknowledges the immense demand for Croatia’s matches, which often exceeds stadium capacity.
“Unfortunately, this high interest attracts resellers looking to profit, but HNS is committed to fighting against such practices through its own tools and cooperation with authorities,” HNS said.
Fans are urged not to buy tickets from unofficial sources, as these may be invalid. The federation remains dedicated to ensuring fair ticket distribution and protecting genuine supporters from scams.
