Construction is in full swing and everything is on track for a brand new 262,000 square metre mega shopping mall to open in the Croatian capital Zagreb this May…
The Supernova Shopping Centre, located just a few kilometres from the airport in the suburb of Buzin, is on track to open its doors in just over 16 weeks. With no shortage of shopping malls already in the relatively small capital city, locals are questioning the need for yet another one.
“People don’t have money, half the city is unemployed and there are already 5 malls which are half empty in the city,” said Zagreb resident Irena Horvat.
Supernova Holding, who are based in the Austrian city of Graz, are behind the 262,000 square metre mall which will include office space. The mall is expected to employ 200 people. Supernova already have a malls around Croatia, including in the Dalmatian town of Zadar, which has tenants such as Spar, H&M, Zara, Müller Drogerie, Hervis, Elipso, C&A, New Yorker, Humanic, Pittarello and dm Drogeriemarkt.
