The small boat carrying the German nationals, which included one father with his three kids, and another father with his two kids, flipped at 13:15 in Ljubacki Zaljev. After the boat flipped, one of the men aged 40, drowned whilst saving the kids. He was taken to shore but attempts to resuscitate him failed. The other father who was on the boat swam to safety with all of the children, where they got help from a boatie who notified the marine police and the port authorities. All of the kids on board where between 6 and 10 years old and are said to be ok. It was reported that a strong Bura wind was blowing, making conditions not ideal for boating.
