Former Croatia coach Niko Kovač, who was sacked near the end of the recent EURO 2016 qualifying campaign, has a new job…
Kovač has been named as the new coach of German Budesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt today. The former Croatia captain and coach has signed a deal through to June 2017. He replaces Armin Veh, who was fired Sunday, and will have a job on his hands as Eintracht Frankfurt lie second to last in the Bundesliga with just 24 points from 25 games. Niko’s brother Robert will be his assistant.
Kovač, who had an extensive career in Germany, playing for Hertha Berlin, Hamburger SV, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, was sacked by Croatia after a disappointing draw against Azerbaijan and loss to Norway in 2016 European Championship qualifiers.
