The Croatian capital Zagreb will celebrate the 158th anniversary since the birth of famous inventor Nikola Tesla, with a 3-day programme starting on Wednesday titled – Tesla & Friends…
An international conference titled ‘Tesla in Zagreb’ will kick off the 3-day programme, with a host of experts talking about Tesla’s contributions will be held on the opening day of celebrations on 9 July, before the marking of his birthday on 10 July with an official programme which will see flowers placed on Tesla’s monument in downtown Zagreb, and a gala evening at hotel Esplande. A ceremony will take place on the evening to present the Nikola Tesla – Genius of the Future award.
The last day is reserved for lectures and experiments at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb. Tesla was born in Smiljan, Croatia on 10 July 1856 before he emigrated to the United States in 1884. He is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.
