Nova TV Take Over Broadcasting Rights of All Croatian Football Matches from HRT

State broadcaster Croatian radiotevision (HRT) has lost the rights to broadcast Croatian national team football matches.
Today Nova TV, which is the most watched TV channel in Croatia, confirmed that it will exclusively broadcast all matches for the next four years. Nova TV will broadcast live all EURO 2020 qualifying, UEFA Nations League, EURO 2020, and all 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
“Nova TV has the most watched programmes in the country, and from now will be even richer. Our viewers will have the chance to watch all of Vatreni’s live matches over the next four years and our team of sports editors will provide them with unique, dynamic and attractive content. With this news, Nova TV will further strengthen the position as the strongest multimedia platform in the country, “said Nova TV Director Dražen Mavrić.
“United Media, which owns the rights to all national team matches of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia for the UEFA Nations League, UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying, EURO 2020 and the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying, are very pleased that Nova TV will broadcast all of ‘Vatreni’s’ matches and provide top sport content for its viewers,” said Alexsandra Subotić from United Media.
The final match which HRT broadcast was the World Cup final between Croatia and France with 1.84 million people in Croatia tuning in.
Nova TV is a Croatian commercial television network which launched in November 2000. It was the first commercial television network with national concession in the country and since 2004.
