Old Drive-In Movie Theaters Making A Comeback In Croatia

They were hugely popular in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s with over 4,000 drive-in movie theaters across the United States. The drive-in theaters were favourites among families with babies, meaning they could take the baby along, and also teenagers with drivers licences who found the drive-ins the ideal place for a date. Fast forward over 50 years and the drive-in is being brought back to life in Zagreb.
The Croatian Student Association is to present Drive-in Kino Zagreb will be held on 6 & 7 and 13 & 14 April at Poligon Kockice in Prisavlje with the screening of Midnight in Paris and Untouchables on the 12 metre screen.
Those in cars who turn up can listen to the movie on a local radio station, whilst those who come carless, will hear the movie over the PA system. Entry is free with DJ and stand up comedy accompanying the films.
