One new Covid case in Croatia, active cases drop to 80

ZAGREB, 30 MAY, 2020 –There has been one new COVID-19 case reported in Croatia in the last 24 hours, the national crisis management team said in a statement on Saturday.
With zero new cases on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, there was only one new COVID-19 case reported in Croatia on Saturday. The total number of cases stands at 2,246.
The new case was reported in the Koprivnica-Križevci County.
There were no new COVID-19-related fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
The current death toll now stands at 103.
There have been 2,063 recoveries to date, 4 more than yesterday. Currently, there are 80 active cases in Croatia with 27 people in hospital and 4 patients currently on a ventilator.
Since late February, Croatia has conducted 66,144 tests, including 635 in the last 24 hours.
Borders openings
On Thursday, Croatia opened its borders to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Germany, and Slovakia.
Nationals from those countries now do not have to prove the reason for their entry into the Republic of Croatia and are able able to enter under the same conditions as before the outbreak of COVID-19, but still, with epidemiological control, and with the obligation to comply with general and special recommendations of the Institute of Public Health.
In order to reduce congestion at border crossings and shorten the waiting time for crossing the state border, which will be longer this year due to the need to collect additional data, the Croatian government launched a new website also on Thursday making entry into the country smoother.
