It will be hot and sunny, up to 35°C for most parts of the coast, until Thursday before the heat wave ends and the rain arrives, according to forecasts from the state met office.
It will stay hot and dry until late Wednesday when clouds will build and some parts of the country will have showers in the evening. Thursday will bring rain and thunder, mostly in the afternoon, with temperatures steadily dropping to below 20°C in parts on the weekend.
Saturday will bring rain to most parts and Sunday will be noticeably cooler. In Zagreb temperatures are not expected to rise beyond 19°C on Sunday.
