Zagreb’s 1,940 square-meter ice park will be officially opened on Friday, with the event to be covered by a number of international journalists…
From 5 December to 18 January King Tomislav Square, which is located in front of the railway station in downtown Zagreb, will be transformed for the first time into a gigantic outdoor ice skating rink, making it a paradise for ice skating fans of all ages. The rink, based on similar concepts in Vienna and New York, is part of Advent in Zagreb, which this year has come on the radar of the international media.
UK’s The Star, France’s Destination Magazine and Spain’s Lonely Planet are just some of the foreign media who will be in Zagreb over the weekend to cover the event as well as other goings on for Advent in Zagreb.
“Entry to the skating rink will be 20 kuna, whilst you will be able to rent skates for 10 kuna,” said Zagreb Tourist Board Director Martina Bienenfeld, adding that the rink will be surrounded by various outdoor stalls and offering culinary delicacies, as well as warm drinks and the traditional mulled wine.
A number of local personalities and musicians will be there performing at Friday’s official opening.
