Croatian basketball star Dario Šarić has been selected by the Orlando Magic with the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the highest by a Croatian player in the history of the draft…
Šarić will not however be playing in the NBA this season. The Magic have traded the 6ft’10 forward to the Philadelphia 76ers , but first he is off to Turkey for at least two seasons before playing in the US. Šarić signed a deal earlier this week with Anadolu Efes of the Turkish League.
“My dream is the NBA, but I have chosen a different path. I played in the 3rd Croatian league, then the second, then the first. After that I spent time playing in the regional ABA league and I think that it is best that I play two more seasons in Turkey. After that I will be ready for the NBA,” said Šarić.
