Oscar winner wraps shooting film on Croatian island

On Tuesday, October 10, on the Croatian island of Prvić, in the town of Prvić Šepurine, after 27 days of shooting, the final scene of the feature film “Nakon ljeta” (After Summer), directed by the Oscar winner Danis Tanović, was shot.
The film is being produced by Propeler Film (Croatia), in co-production with Tramal Films (Slovenia), Obala Art Centar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Baš Čelik (Serbia), and Tangaj Production (Romania).
“Nakon ljeta” is a comedic drama about an unexpected romance in late summer that evolves into a story about acceptance and love for others, the island, roots, and most importantly, oneself.
The screenplay is written by Anja Matković, Nikola Kuprešanin, and Danis Tanović. The director of photography is Miloš Jaćimović, with Anja Matković and Uliks Fehmiu in the lead roles.
Other roles are portrayed by Goran Navojec, Mario Knezović, Ivana Roščić, Boris Ler, Luka Juričić, Mirela Brekalo, Snježana Sinovčić, and many others. Veronika Radman is the film’s production designer, Dubravka Skvrce is the costume designer, and Silvija Bradica is the makeup artist.
The producers are Lana Matić and Boris T. Matić, with co-producers Jelena Mitrović, Miha Černec, Jožko Rutar, Mirsad Purivatra, Jovan Marjanović, and Anamaria Antoci.
Danis Tanović is a multi-award-winning director, screenwriter, and producer. His film “No Man’s Land” (2001), for which he also wrote the screenplay, won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. He is a two-time recipient of the Silver Bear for “An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker” (2013) and “Death in Sarajevo” (2016).
The film crew expresses gratitude to the wonderful residents of Prvić Šepurine for their hospitality and to the authorities of the City of Vodice for their assistance during the film’s production.
The film is being made with the support of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Slovenian Film Centre, the Serbian Film Centre, the Sarajevo Film Fund, the Romanian Film Centre, BH Telecom, and the MEDIA Subprogramme of the Creative Europe Programme for project development.
