Over 100 Jobs to Go at Croatia Airlines

More than 140 Croatia Airlines workers are set to lose their jobs as restructuring begins this week at the troubled airline. Croatia’s national carrier, which the government will later this month issue a tender for interest its sale, have began talking to worker’s union about its cost cutting plans, reports business daily.
Croatia Airlines confirmed that the company has an excess of around 145 workers, but will employ around 40 new people. “New business opportunities in the technical departmet means that it opens up room to hire around 40 further employees, which will represent an opportunity for the workers that are identified as being redundant candidates,” said the board.
