Pag will ‘rock’ your world: Pedal your way through the island’s history and nature

Bikademy, the innovative cycling tourism product, has launched a new “Study” on the island of Pag, specifically focusing on the town of Pag and its southern parts.
This Study complements the existing one in Novalja, which covers the northern part of the island and was introduced by Bikademy last October. With these initiatives, Bikademy ensures that cyclists, bike enthusiasts, and recreational riders can explore unique locations and earn rewards, regardless of where they are on the island.
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Pag Will Rock Your World,” highlighting the many reasons why Pag can positively shake someone’s world. The island’s landscape is raw and exposed due to the harsh bura winds, with the play on words “rock” emphasising the significance of its stone formations.
Whether it’s the stunning scenery, charming streets, or incredible architecture of Pag’s town, the stone stands witness to the city’s rich history and remains a significant element in today’s time.
Bikademy operates on a concept similar to a formal academy, with “students” who choose a “Study” (region or town) and cycle to designated “Exams” (locations within the Study). Upon reaching these Exam spots, they must check-in through the free Bikademy mobile app, and as a reward, they receive recognition for completing all the Exams within their chosen Study.

The Pag Study includes, apart from the town of Pag, six additional Exam locations: Fortica, Kolansko polje, vidikovac Paška Vrata, Stari grad Pag, Šimune, and Veliko blato.
Krešimir Herceg, the owner of Bikademy, emphasizes that cycling, being one of the most sustainable means of transportation, contributes to fewer CO2 emissions and reduced traffic congestion while simultaneously promoting physical activity and better health. Reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality are key to enhancing the lives of local residents and ensuring a more enjoyable experience for tourists. Bikademy’s mission revolves around motivating people to explore cultural and natural heritage by cycling, while also promoting destinations as desirable places for cycling enthusiasts.
Vesna Karavanić, the director of the Tourist Board of Pag, added that Bikademy presents an excellent opportunity to position the town and the island of Pag as ideal destinations for active tourism and cycling enthusiasts. Through this partnership, they expect to attract more cyclists and recreational riders to explore the lesser-known cultural and natural attractions of Pag and its surroundings.
The opening of this new Study was made possible thanks to the support of the Tourist Boards of the Town of Pag, the Municipality of Kolan, and Povljana, in collaboration with Bikademy’s partners Enna Group and Giant Croatia, who provided the rewards for the participants.
