Croatia has made the perfect start to the Women’s Volleyball World Cup in Rome, Italy on Tuesday…
The impressive Croatians beat Argentina 3:1 (25:17, 26:28, 26:24, 25:19) to claim 3 points in their opening match of Group A. After winning the first set, the Croatia were unlucky not to take a 2-0 set to love lead, but the spirited Argentines managed to win a close-set 28:26. The Croatians then took the last two sets to claim victory.
Samanta Fabris was named man of the match with 16 points (11 winners and 5 blocks), whilst Mia Jerkov (14 points), Senna Ušić (11 ) Maja Poljak (10), and Sanja Popović (8) were all impressive. Croatia face Italy next on Wednesday at 20:00. Dominican Republic, Tunis and Germany also are in Croatia’s group.
