Philanthropy in Croatia: Video encouraging people to help others

On October 1, Croatia celebrates the European Day of Foundations and Donors, all through numerous events during the Week of Philanthropy 2020.
The European Foundation for Philanthropy and Social Development as the coordinator of the Croatian Foundations Forum ZaDobro.BIT! (ForWell BEING!), which has 38 members, this year in cooperation with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, is participating for the fifth time in the celebration of the European Day of Foundations and Donors will support a number of activities during the Week of Philanthropy 2020 in the period until October 4, 2020.
Since this year the emphasis will be on the virtual form of implementation of activities, due to the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a virtual exhibition on the history of philanthropy in Croatia is being prepared based on previously collected information/materials presented at the first one in 2016 and audio-visual material (a short film on philanthropy), which will be available on official online channels and can be downloaded for the purpose of promoting the celebration of Philanthropy Week 2020.
Croatian Philanthropy Week 2020, as well as a promotional film about philanthropy, will be part of a large European campaign conducted in more than 20 European Union countries with the aim of highlighting the values of philanthropy and philanthropy and solidarity that have shown and proven importance in the time we live and the beauty of kindness and caring for others.
The main goal of marking the European Day of Foundations and Donors is to motivate as many citizens as possible to contribute to the further development of philanthropy in Croatia through their own engagement. The events ahead of October 1st have already started, and there are many other events ahead of that people can get involved in. Until October 4, a promotional film on philanthropy and a virtual exhibition on philanthropy are online. On September 27, an online lecture on hematological diseases and the work of the Ana Rukavina Foundation will be available.
September 30 is reserved for setting up an exhibition on the work of philanthropists throughout history and sensitising children about helping people in need in Brinje, organised by the Kajo Dadić Foundation.
On the same day, the University of Rijeka Foundation organises an online presentation of the game MemoRi. It is a game of memory with motifs of the city of Rijeka, with two types of cards – pictorial and textual. The Kajo Dadić Foundation, from Split, has also prepared a reading of fairy tales for children from Opuzen in a virtual form for October 1.
