PHOTOS: 100 years of Dalmatian immigration to Brazil celebrated in São Paulo

A historic exhibition, “In the Heart of São Paulo, Croatia,” opened its doors to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Dalmatian immigration to Brazil.
The ehxibition counted with the presence of the Croatian Ambassador in Brazil, Mr Ranko Vilović and was organized by the Sociedade Amigos da Dalmácia (@comunidade_croata), with the support of the Central Office of Croats Living Abroad and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, the exhibit pays tribute to the rich cultural heritage brought to Brazil by Croatian immigrants.
The exhibition, made possible through the collaborative efforts of many, offers a glimpse into the lives and contributions of Dalmatian immigrants to Brazilian society.
Curated and visually conceived by Leandro Santana (@homemleoa), the exhibit features extensive research and organization by professor Milan Puh (@puhmilan).
A special highlight is the collection of Croatian embroidery, curated by Paula Srića-Pexider Winge (@paulapswinge) and the members of the Croatian Embroidery Club.
The opening event was made complete with a cocktail reception hosted by Bar Vela Luka, organized by @solangejuvella.
Infrastructure was provided by Mário Gavranich Júnior (@mariojrjadran), and financial support was generously provided by Bóris Franulović (@bfranulović).
The Sociedade Amigos da Dalmácia extends its gratitude to the entire Croatian community for their invaluable contributions to the success of this exhibition.
“In the Heart of São Paulo, Croatia” will be open to the public on weekends starting January 11, 2025.
