PHOTOS: A visit to the popular Zagreb Food Truck Festival on Jarun

With a chilled-out atmosphere amongst nature, delicious street food, and refreshing drinks, the new edition of the Zagreb Food Truck Festival is once again proving popular in the Croatian capital.

From August 19 – September 13, the spacious meadow next to the Aquarius Club on Zagreb’s Lake Jarun is the place to go for all hedonists who want to escape from the city bustle.

The Food Truck Festival is divided into four zones:

FOOD ON WHEELS – Food market where the pioneers of the mobile gastronomic industry BARBAQ exhibit their rich gastronomic offer, with street food classics, MUNCHY with irresistible wraps and waffles, APULULU with Indonesian specialties with new associated trucks, Istrian HOOK & COOK with fish street food specialties and YUMY NJUMY with their Dutch pancakes – Poffertjes.

DRINKS ON WHEELS – Under the shade of trees, visitors can find refreshments on the APEROL truck from Roto Dinamica, HENDRICKS & THOMAS HENRY in a specially arranged zone, PELINKOVAC central truck, KUTJEVO wine bar, COCKTAIL bar from pallets, PIPI themed beach and MEDVEDGRAD retro beet truck.

MUSIC ON WHEELS – The best Zagreb DJs perform on a real Mad Max truck in cooperation with Red Bull, and the only concert performance on September 2 will be honoured by Tihomir Pop Asanović with his band. Pippi prepares a party every Friday during the festival.

CHILL ZONE – Colourful chill zones produced by the hardworking hands of small craftsmen will delight all lovers of nature and hedonism. From Pipi Beach, a children’s corner with animators and workshops, beer tables modelled on October Fest, to lazy bags, deck chairs and colourful booths made of car tires and wooden pallets.

The Food Truck Festival has prepared a series of treats for all visitors and their beloved pets in cooperation with ZOO CITY, which has taken care of places where pets will be able to quench their thirst. Pet owners will be especially pleased with the ZOO CITY PET SATURDAY education where they will be able to ask a question to professional veterinarians every Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm or participate in thematic workshops on pets.

In order to provide all visitors with the best possible user experience at the Festival in accordance with the current situation, the team from KEKS PAY took care of bringing the first festival contactless payment via the KEKS PAY application, and sweetens every purchase via the application for free, of course, with a biscuit dessert.

VOLIM LJUTO sauces are also organising its traditional “Clash of Ljutoman” at the Food Truck Festival on Saturday, September 5, and the hottest competitors can still apply for the competition with rich prizes on the official VOLIM LJUTO FB page.

The Food Truck Festival is open:

Monday – Friday – 4 p.m. – midnight
Saturday & Sunday – 11 a.m. – midnight

All day and night events with concerts and performances by DJs, and children’s workshops at the Zagreb Food Truck Festival are free for visitors.

The festival is supported by Badel, Keks Pay, Pivovara Medvedgrad, Hendricks, Kutjevo, Roto Dinamic, Somersby, Pipi, Jamnica, Volim ljuto, Zoo City, Labud, Jutarnji list, Yammat, Jukebox and Aquarius.
