PHOTOS: Croatian & Bayern Munich legends play inside Pula Arena

PULA, 8 July 2019 – Football has been played for the first time inside the Roman amphitheatre in Pula when Croatian and Bayern Munich legends met in an exhibition tournament on Monday night.  

Former Croatia and Bayern Munich stars took part in a futsal tournament on a special 40x20m pitch placed in the centre of the Pula Arena. Two Bayern Munich teams and two Croatian legends team played two semifinal matches before the 3rd-4th place match and final was played. 

Defending Croatia’s colours tonight in Team Kranjčar were Stipe Pletikosa, Dario Šimić, Josip Šimunić, Igor Cvitanović, Ivan Klasnić, Mihael Mikić, Dražen Ladić, Mario Carević and Petar Krpan, whilst Team Srebrić featured Marjan Mrmić, Jurica Vranješ, Anthony Šerić, Davor Vugrinec, Ognjen Vukojević, Mato Neretljak, Daniel Šarić and Ardian Kozniku.

Ivica Olić, who represented both Croatian and the German giants during his career, led the Bayern side which also featured the likes of Paulo Sergio, Giovane Elber, Martín Demichelis, Luca Toni, Klaus Augenthaler, and Marcel Witeczek. 

Semifinals:

Bayern 1990 – Bayern 2000 3:1
Team Kranjčar – Team Srebrić 0:2

3rd place:

Bayern 2000 – Team Kranjčar 5:5

Final:

Bayern 1990 – Team Srebrić 3:2

Apart from the football, visitors who turned out tonight at the Pula Arena had the opportunity to enjoy in an entertainment programme. The match was another project which is part of the strategic partnership between the Istria Tourist Board and FC Bayern München.
