PHOTOS: Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia starts in Rovinj

This year’s ninth edition of the ‘most beautiful and quietest rally’ in the world – the Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia 2022 – which takes place from June 5-11, officially started today in Rovinj.
The Mayor of Rovinj, Marko Paliaga, wished everyone a good time and expressed satisfaction that the rally organisers, Tina and Igor Kolovrat, who chose Rovinj as the starting point of this year’s rally.
He also emphasised that it is nice to host an event that promotes e-mobility and renewable energy sources, and that Rovinj follows recent trends and supports the use of e-vehicles and the expansion of the network of charging stations for them.
The rally will be held in Istria until June 8, 2022. when it continues through Kvarner, Šibenik to Zadar where this year for the first time the grand finale and the announcement of the winner will be held.

The largest number of international participants from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and even the USA and Canada will enjoy a rich program that includes driving on panoramic roads through beautiful landscapes, tour of cultural sights and wine/gastronomic offer, and a dose of adrenaline and fun will be experienced at two organised sports races/skills tests, at Vrsar Airport – Aeroclub Vrsar and at the Sports Centre Visnjik in Zadar.

No location on the route was chosen by chance but with the aim of showing the best that Croatia has to offer, and this year we are leaving behind a permanent infrastructure for e-vehicles at two selected locations on the rally route, which is officially known as “Green Tourist Highway”.

The rally as a unique tourism project that combines e-mobility, ecology, technology and tourism into a completely new premium tourism product is now globally recognised as the “Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia“ which gives Croatia a unique opportunity to brand itself through it as an “e-mobility friendly” destination, and the rally itself is the most beautiful technological and tourist postcard of Croatia that we send to the world from the homeland of Nikola Tesla.
