Residents of the Croatian town of Nin have gotten a pleasant surprise as a flamingo has retuned to its most famous beach.
It is a rare occurrence for this bird to visit the area and locals are questioning if this is the same exotic bird which twice visited Queen’s Beach in Nin lagoon. The last visits were in 2016 and 2017.
Since the flamingo is on a popular spot where people go for walks with small children, the Nin Tourist Board advises all visitors to be careful and not to get too close to the bird because it is timid.
Now the lagoon is calm and the bird is enjoying that oasis of peace, there is food, the environment is clean and that is prosperity for her, they said.
The flamingo in Nin belongs to the group of so-called European flamingos that have slightly lighter feather colour.
