ŠIBENIK, 1 August 2020 – Rijeka has won the Croatian Cup for the second year in a row after defeating Lokomotiva in the final on Saturday night in Šibenik.
A 77th-minute goal from Tibor Halilovic was enough to give Rijeka a 1-0 win the cup final. Lokomotiva, who was playing in their second final, twice hit the bar and were unlucky to take the lead before Halilovic sealed the match late in the second half.
The match was played without any fans but there were some guests in the stadium on hand to watch, including Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić, West Bromwich Albion coach Slaven Bilić and former Croatia international Dario Šimić.
Croatian Football Federation, with mask and gloves on, presented the trophy to the winners.
It was the 6th time Rijeka had won the Croatian Cup in their history, previously winning it in 2005, 2006, 2014, 2017 and 2019.
