Ranka Drašković, from the Croatian city of Vukovar, has turned 100 years old and celebrated her milestone birthday on Thursday.
Ranka, who looks tremendous, was born on February 24, 1922. She is the mother of three sons and spent the majority of her life as a housewife.
Ranka celebrated the milestone yesterday at the ‘Nana’ nursing home in Vukovar with family, friends and staff.
The birthday celebration was also attended by the Mayor of Vukovar Ivan Penava, who congratulated Ranka on their birthday and wished her good health.
“Few people experience such beautiful years and that is why it was a special honour for me to talk to a woman who has gained life experience and wisdom for a century and told us only a small part of her memories with a smile today,” Penava said, emphasising that the City of Vukovar has been implementing concrete measures aimed at the elderly for years and in that sense will continue to be available to senior citizens and will strive to make their lives as high quality and beautiful as possible.
