Zagreb Burger Festival powered by Heinz has opened on Thursday on Strossmayer Square in the Croatian capital.

12 burger bars from Zagreb, Fažana, Pula, Dubrovnik and Split (RougeMarin, Submarine, 50 A Burger&Champagne bar, Špiro, Factory burger, Maredo, Kitchen&Grill Plac , Green Point, Toto’s burger bar, Arborteum Pub, Mason burgers&staff and Barba) will be cooking their range of burgers on Strossmayer Square from 14 – 24 September 2017.

From 12 pm weekdays and 10 am on Saturdays & Sundays, the popular burger bars will preparing their specialities with local meats and vegetables. If you are not a fan of meat there are a number of other options, including octopus, sardine and shrimp burgers as well as a vegetarian ‘green burger’ at the Vege Bar.

Besides Burger Square, the festival is split into three zones – Grill, Sweet & Kids.

In the Grill Zone, you can check out the best BBQs as well as the new Croatian meat brand Slast&Mast. There is also the Jameson lounge bar which will be serving cocktails.

In the Sweet Zone, there will be sweet and savoury combinations – wine&pršut&cheese and crepes.

In the Kid’s Zone, there will be a number of games and activities to keep the young ones entertained, including face-painting and puzzles.

The Spice&Health District area will be offering a rich selection of gluten-free and vegan food as well as some spices from Spice Up, Harissa and Volim ljuto.

There will be music and cocktails in the evening in the Beefeater bar with live music starting at 8 pm.
