A Croatian part-time model and singer who turned writer, finally received her award for the best-selling book in Croatia on Monday, five years after actually winning the prize…
Socialite and pin-up girl Nives Celzijus, who hit headlines around the world when she revealed she had sex on the pitch of Zagreb’s Maksimir stadium with her ex-Croatian football international partner Dino Drpić, had the Kiklop award for the best-selling book in Croatia in 2008 taken away from her because organisers deemed her book “Gola istina” (The Naked Truth), too controversial, and did not consider her to be a bonified writer and worthy winner of the literature award.
Gola istina, which detailed her numerous affairs and scandals throughout her life, was the best-selling book that year in the country, but organisers decided not to give her the award. After a long court battle, Nives was given the award on Monday.
