A new beer with a mission supports the charity Zagrebački humanitarci
Croatian craft brewery Pivovara Medvedgrad is launching a new beer, Heroj ulice (Street Hero), the third in a series of charity beers brewed since 2019.
These beers not only delight with their taste but also make a real difference to those in need. While Sretno dijete (Lucky Child) and Zeko je reko (The Bunny Said) support organisations that help children and animals, Heroj ulice is dedicated to charities assisting people in need.
Heroj ulice is a tribute to those who are often unseen yet dedicate their time, skills, and talents to helping others. They don’t wait for opportunities – they create them, expecting nothing in return.

This year, the proceeds from Heroj ulice will go to single parents supported by Zagrebački humanitarci, a charity that aids socially vulnerable individuals. For every bottle or litre of draft beer sold, 30 cents will be donated to the organisation.
Pivovara Medvedgrad believes that even small actions can spark change. After all, being a hero doesn’t require a Superman suit – just the decision to help, even if it’s as simple as ordering a beer that makes a difference.
Heroj ulice is an amber lager with a deep, rich colour, a malty flavour, and a balanced bitterness, complemented by subtle notes of citrus and caramel. Smooth yet distinctive, it combines the best of classic and modern brewing traditions.

This special beer is available at Medvedgrad Pubs, via the Zamado webshop (shop.pivovara-medvedgrad.hr), and through Medvedgrad Brewery’s partners. Like many of their other beers, Heroj ulice features a thoughtfully designed label illustrated by Vedran Klemens, with artwork created by Andrea Knapić.
This year, all three charity beers will be available, supporting organisations that help children, animals, and people in need. Since its launch in 2019, Sretno dijete has supported four charities: Dječja udruga Hrabrost (Children’s Courage Association), Udruga Kolibrići, Udruga za zbrinjavanje djece bez roditeljske skrbi Nova budućnost (Association for the Care of Orphaned Children – New Future), and Udruga za djecu s teškoćama u razvoju Zvončići (Association for Children with Developmental Disabilities – Zvončići). This year, Sretno dijete will return in May.

Also launched in 2019, Zeko je reko has since supported the Kuterevo Bear Sanctuary, Indigo Animal Welfare and Protection Association, and BIOM for the LIFE SUPport project, which ensures a future for griffon vultures in Croatia. Zeko je reko will be available again from November.

Pivovara Medvedgrad sees supporting the local community as part of its social responsibility, and its charity beers are their way of combining what they do best—crafting exceptional beer—with what matters most: helping others.
The donation principle remains the same for all three beers: 30 cents from each bottle or litre of draft beer sold will go to the selected charity. You can start making a difference today by supporting the first cause—Zagrebački humanitarci.

Anyone can be a Heroj ulice and help those in need—because the beer you drink is the help you give.
