Croatia’s Prime Minister Zoran Milanović, speaking on Saturday at his political parties end of year conference, says that Croatia, despite what many forecasters think, is heading in the right direction..
“We have some bad news for the pessimists. Croatia will move forward. We are half there with bringing order into the state coffers. We are trying to go down the difficult route, with populism. We are already in surplus this year with EU funds, and next year it will be better. EU Membership is not easy, but the rewards are immeasurable. Our goal is that Croatia will be wealthy in 15 years,” said Milanović, before stressing that his government will continue to fight for minorities in Croatia, despite opposition from a number of groups in the country.
“Some are trying to question human rights and minority rights, I respect them, but we will fight against them,” Milanović said.
