Croatia’s famous Jadrolinija ferries, which have been transporting locals and tourists up and down the coast for decades, are now leaving the naming of one of its new ferries up to the public for the first time…
Today an online survey titled “Assigning a name to a Jadrolinija boat” has kicked off, giving the public a chance to have their say in the naming of a new 616 passenger-32 million euro ferry which will be used from 4 March 2013 on the Croatian coast. The public can suggest names with the most popular four then submitted to the Ministry to make a final decision.
Jadrolinija’s ferries are most commonly named after places in Croatia, such as Lastovo and Ston, or after people, such as Petar Hektorović and Hanibal Lucić. (jadrolinija.hr)
