ZAGREB, 24 June 2020 – Qatar Airways will operate a direct service between Doha and Zagreb from July 1st, Croatian Aviation reports.
Qatar Airways has been operating on the Doha-Zagreb route since May 2012, initially the service operated with a stop in Budapest, but with the development of demand the company launched a direct line between the two cities, and since increased the number of flights and capacity on the route to the Croatian capital.
Until the outbreak of the pandemic, the Doha-Zagreb route operated twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, mainly with the A320 and A321 aircraft.
Because of low demand and international restrictions, and in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the service was suspended but it will now resume starting July 1.
The Doha-Zagreb service will operate only three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an afternoon departure from Zagreb. A320 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers have been announced on the route.
As the company resumes traffic to other destinations, passengers will be able to travel from Zagreb to numerous destinations in Asia, Australia and Oceania.
The return of Qatar Airways to Zagreb is an added addition to the tourist season, given that these flights will provide a simple connection to distant destinations from which there have been growing the number of visitors.
A new Qatar Airways service between Doha and Dubrovnik has been completely canceled for this year and the company plans to launch it in the 2021 summer season.
