Samobor, April 10, 2024 – RC Europe, a development and investment group from the Czech Republic, hosted a gathering of its business partners, associates, as well as representatives of local and regional authorities to present their first project in Croatia in person.
The project is scheduled to be completed within a year, with the first lessees commencing operations in April 2025.
It involves the construction of the largest and most modern logistics center – RC Zone Samobor – situated on a land area of 170,000 m2 in the Bobovica economic zone near Samobor.
This represents the largest individual Czech investment in Croatia, worth 100 million euros, featuring an impressive facility spanning 86,000 m2 designated for long-term lease for storage or production purposes.
The highlight of the gathering, organised adjacent to the construction site where work is progressing according to plan, was the unveiling of the marble cornerstone and the ceremonial planting of a linden and an oak tree – national symbols of the two friendly countries: the Czech Republic and Croatia.
The collaboration, understanding, and alliance between the two nations were emphasised in the address by the Czech Ambassador to Croatia, Milan Hovorka, who thanked local and state authorities for their significant support for the project.
Ervin Kolarec, Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County, added that the county also invests significantly in entrepreneurial zones and fully supports investors whose projects ultimately create jobs for its residents.
Petra Škrobot, Mayor of the City of Samobor, expressed her great honor that RC Europe chose Samobor as the home for this major investment, noting Samobor’s reputation for fostering entrepreneurship and high quality of life.
She emphasized her commitment to continue advocating for and assisting entrepreneurs and craftsmen in facilitating the investment process at the local and state levels.
The co-owners of the RC Europe group, Miloslav Hartman and Jan Prokop, expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided by all speakers, as well as numerous business partners, current and future lessees, and the local RC team led by Antonín Dillenz.
“I am confident in the success of this project, which has been in preparation for seven years. As soon as we complete it, we already have a new project in preparation because I believe that Croatia has the greatest potential in Europe,” Miloslav Hartman conveyed to the guests.
The potential and advantages of the RC Zone have already been recognized by three significant lessees who have decided to enhance their future operations within the Bobovica economic zone. These include prominent names in the logistics sector: DB Schenker, Milšped, and Logaritam, whose CEO, Vedran Hirtz, revealed to the attendees why RC Zone is considered an ideal location for expanding his company’s business operations.
Future lessees interested in the RC Zone Samobor logistics center can find more information on the official website, where they can also arrange meetings.
