Minister of Tourism Anton Kliman has announced the results from July according to the eVisitor system, and it has revealed a record month for parts of the country. In July there were 26.6 million overnight stays recorded in Croatia, bringing the total to 45 million for the year.

One city which has had a bumper summer so far is the port city of Split on the Dalmatian coast. In July there were 124,219 tourist arrivals in Split, a massive 29% more than the same month in 2015. There were 424,184 overnight stays recorded in Split in July, which was 31% more than in July 2015.

The most number of tourist arrivals came from the UK, followed by Australia and USA. The most number of overnight stays were recorded by Brits, Poles and Germans.

From 1 January 2016 to 31 July 2016 there have been 298,060 arrivals in the Split area, which is 24% more than the same period last year. Overnight stays were up 28% on the year with 886,565 recorded in the first 7 months.
