ZAGREB, 20 March 2025 – The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia has announced the start of the regular annual registration of military conscripts.

The process will take place from 1 April to 15 May 2025 across the country.

This is a standard procedure conducted every year in accordance with the Defence Act (Articles 21 and 22) and applies to all Croatian male citizens who turn 18 in 2025 and have permanent residence in Croatia.

Authorities emphasise that this is a routine registration and not linked to any extraordinary circumstances or the current geopolitical situation.

Who Needs to Register?

Individuals born in 2007 will receive invitations in March and April 2025, sent by regional defence offices based on their place of residence.

It is mandatory to attend the scheduled appointment and bring a personal ID or proof of citizenship, as well as their OIB number.

Croatian citizens living abroad can complete the registration through a Croatian embassy or consulate in their country of residence.

Additionally, individuals from previous years who have not yet registered can do so at their local defence office without waiting for an official invitation.

For more information, individuals can contact their local defence office.
