Controversial American writer Judith Reisman has spoken in the Croatian parliament on Thursday, where she warned Croatia of the potential consequences of adopting sex education in the school curriculum.
Reisman, who is renowned for endorsing the criminalization of homosexuality and supporting a ban on pornography, says that teenage pregnancies and sexual transmitted diseases would increase if sex education programmes were introduced into schools.
According to published data, Croatia have one of the lowest levels of sexual trauma in children – said Reisman, before launching into what she believed would be the consequences of sex education in schools.
“If you start with this programme, you will see large growth in the number of sexual diseases and abortions with children,, because they act on what they see, said Reisman. The catholic church in Croatia has been against the governments plan to introduce sex education in schools.
Reisman’s visit to Croatia has not passed without incident. A live debate was cancelled for “security reasons” when over 500 packed out a university hall on Wednesday night. Reisman was also verbally attacked after speaking to a group of students.
