Croatian football club NK Rijeka have created history on Wednesday night after completing the league and cup double for the first time in the club’s 71-year history.
Rijeka, who won the Croatian first division for the first time earlier this month, have beaten Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 tonight in Varaždin in the Croatian Cup final.
A brace from Mario Gavranović either side of halftime, and a goal in the 72nd minute from Dario Župarić was enough to give Rijeka the win.
It is the fourth time Rijeka have lifted the Croatian Cup, but the first time the club has achieved the double. Dinamo Zagreb has won the Croatian first division for the last 11 years in a row.
