Rijeka’s European Capital of Culture 2020 promo video released

In 2016, the Croatian coastal city of Rijeka was awarded the title of European Capital of Culture for 2020. 

Rijeka won the title for its programme “The Port of Diversity”, aimed at creating a city of culture and creativity for Europe and the future and will next year assume the role of Europe’s capital of culture. 

As European Capital of Culture, Rijeka will organise a series of cultural events with a strong European dimension throughout 2020. Rijeka is sharing the title with Irish city Galway. The idea of selecting capitals of culture is to bring Europeans closer together by highlighting the richness and diversity of cultures and raising awareness of their common history and values.

On Monday, a promo video was released to promote the city and the title. The video was filmed at a number of attractive locations in which represent the city. 

The City of Rijeka has implemented a number of activities tied to the European Capital of Culture project and on Monday presented a promo video which will promote the city and the title. 

The video was directed by Dalibor Matanić and produced in cooperation with the Croatian Tourist Board.
