The Croatian national rugby team has beaten Israel 31:20 this weekend in their European Nations Cup 2A match in Split…
Croatia, who went into the break 21:14 ahead, saw off a physically strong Israeli side in the second half in front of around 1,000 fans at Split’s Stari Plac stadium.
With just two minutes remaining in the match Israel had managed to get to within 4 points of the Croatians, before Tomislav Burazin scored a try to stretch the lead to 9. Israel again came back and were within a converted try of snatching victory before a Paško Ivančić try made the match safe for the Croatians who claimed an important five points from the match – 3 for the win, 1 for a 7 or more winning margin and 1 for scoring more than 4 tries.
