The Croatian government are reportedly in talks with Russian oil giants Rosneft about selling its stake in leading Croatian oil company INA, reports Bloomberg claiming unofficial sources.
The report suggests that the Croatian Government would reduce its current stake in INA from 44.8% down to 25% by selling 19.8% share to the Russian giants. The Hungarians would have to agree before any deal could be made. Hungarian oil company MOL Group own 49.1% of INA. Bloomberg reported that Rosneft’s President Igor Sechin met with Croatia’s Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak back in June where the Russians interest in investing in Croatia’s energy sector was announced.
