Safe Harbour: Croatia being promoted on Nautical Channel watched by 200 million viewers

ZAGREB, 21 September 2020 – Through the show “Safe Harbour”, the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) promotes nautical tourism on the Nautical Channel, which is watched by more than 200 million viewers in over 100 countries around the world.

Twenty five-minute shows will be broadcast from various Croatian nautical destinations with the aim of presenting Croatia as a safe and desirable nautical destination and attracting as many sailors as possible to the country.

“Croatia has proved this year that it is one of the best nautical destinations in the Mediterranean. In the summer part of the year, nautical charter achieved 70 percent of last year’s result, and since nautical is a sought-after product, which in the current situation provides guests with the desired feeling of security and privacy, we will promote it in the off-season. Also, with the aim of raising the quality of service, this year we launched a multilingual portal nautika.evisitor.hr which guides sailors in a simple and clear way through the process of registration and payment of tourist tax,” said CNTB Director Kristjan Staničić, noting that almost 200 thousand overnight stays in the nautical charter have been realised so far in September.

Destinations that will be promoted through 20 shows on the Nautical Channel are Vis, Dubrovnik, Cres, Korčula, Rovinj, Split, Mali Lošinj, Primošten, Rab, Brač, Skradin, Makarska, Pag, Murter, Omiš, Vodice, Ugljan, Ston, Šibenik and Dugi otok.

In addition to the tourist offer of the destinations themselves, the shows will present various attractions and attractions for boaters, safe ports and bays, marinas, and the rich Croatian eno-gastronomic offer. Special emphasis in the shows is placed on the excellent Croatian location and proximity to emitting markets, and staying on nautical vessels was highlighted as one of the safest forms of accommodation.

The Nautical Channel was created in 2011 with the merging of the Sailing Channel and the Yacht & Sail channel and is broadcast via hundreds of well-known world platforms. The content of this program is focused on sailing and nautical sports, surfing, kite-boarding, nautical news, travel, and interviews with famous athletes.
