On Thursday, 1st August 2024, Solana Nin, located at Ilirska cesta 7 in the coastal town of Nin, will open its doors for the 11th Salt Festival.
This unique event, free for all, offers the opportunity to experience the rich tradition of salt production through a variety of activities and entertainment.
This year, a week before the Salt Festival itself, the town of Nin is specially decorated for “Salt Week,” creating a true salt experience in every corner of the town.
The festival on Thursday begins at 8 in the morning. Visitors will be able to take guided tours of the saltworks, see how salt is harvested by hand, and enjoy various activities for children, such as the play “Slanko.”
The morning programme runs until 1 PM, followed by a short break, and then the afternoon programme kicks off. In addition to the listed activities, the afternoon schedule includes salt packaging, treasure hunts, other activities for the youngest visitors, and a live concert.
Guided tours of the saltworks are scheduled for 8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM in Croatian, and at 9 AM, 11 AM, 5 PM, and 7 PM in English.
It’s worth noting that Solana Nin also has a shop where visitors can purchase various types of salt and salt-based products.
